Relay Outputs (Type R)

R-series modules, such as the XEP01R and XSP01R, use mechanical relays with potential-free contacts. The contacts provide galvanic isolation and can switch AC or DC loads within their ratings.

Technical Data

ParameterValue
Contact TypeNormally open (NO)
Switching VoltageMaximum 30 VDC / 250 VAC
Switching CurrentMaximum 3 A (resistive load)
Electrical LifeMinimum 100,000 cycles (at 3 A load)
Mechanical Lifeapprox. 10×106 cycles
Relay TypeTyco PCN-124D3MHZ

Relay Power Supply (+Us)

IMPORTANT: 18 V Minimum Voltage

The relay coils require at least 18 VDC at the Us+ and Us- terminals to operate reliably. A 12 V supply, which can be used with L-series modules, is not sufficient.

Output Pin Assignment

Each terminal pair is a potential-free normally open contact.

Safety at 230 V

When switching 230 VAC mains voltage, provide appropriate protection against accidental contact and follow all applicable regulations. Only qualified personnel may work on mains-voltage circuits.
