Solid-State Outputs (Type L)

The modules of the L-series (e.g., XEP01L, XSP01L) are equipped with wear-free semiconductor switches (transistors). They are particularly suitable for applications with high switching frequency (e.g., PWM, fast clocking).

Technical Data

ParameterValue
TypeHigh-Side Switch (Positive switching)
Switching Voltage12 .. 30 VDC (corresponds to supply voltage +Us)
Current Capacitymax. 600 mA per channel
Load TypeResistive load (Inductive only with protective circuit)

Load Power Supply (+Us)

The L-series requires a separate feed for the outputs.

TerminalSignalDescription
Us+Load V+Supply for outputs (12 .. 30 VDC)
Us-Load GNDGround for outputs

Output Pin Assignment

The outputs switch the voltage from Us+ through to terminal Ox+. The return conductor of the load is connected to Ox- (which is internally connected to Us-).

BitTerminalDescription
0O0+ / O0-Output Bit 0 (Return line to Us-)
1O1+ / O1-Output Bit 1 (Return line to Us-)
2O2+ / O2-Output Bit 2 (Return line to Us-)
3O3+ / O3-Output Bit 3 (Return line to Us-)
4O4+ / O4-Output Bit 4 (Return line to Us-)
5O5+ / O5-Output Bit 5 (Return line to Us-)
6O6+ / O6-Output Bit 6 (Return line to Us-)
7O7+ / O7-Output Bit 7 (Return line to Us-)

Inductive Loads

When switching inductive loads (e.g., solenoid valves, contactors), high voltage spikes occur. Install freewheeling diodes directly at the load to protect the module.
