Ethernet Interface (XEP Series)
The modules of the XEP series (XEP01L, XEP01R) feature a 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface (RJ45). The core of the communication is formed by a powerful network controller from Tibbo.
Pin Assignment
Connection is made via a standard RJ45 socket (8P8C).
| Pin | Signal | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | TX+ | Transmit Data + |
| 2 | TX- | Transmit Data - |
| 3 | RX+ | Receive Data + |
| 4 | N.C. | - |
| 5 | N.C. | - |
| 6 | RX- | Receive Data - |
| 7 | N.C. | - |
| 8 | N.C. | - |
- Speed: 10/100 Mbit/s (Auto-Negotiation)
- Cable: Minimum CAT5 Patch cable

Integrated Web Server
The module has its own web server for configuring parameters and MFR functions.
- Default IP: (Assigned via DHCP or MFR Setup)
- Login:
admin - Password:
admin(Factory setting)
Security Note
Username and password can be freely changed in the configuration. If you change these credentials, please note them down carefully, as access is no longer possible without a password.
Remote Control Mode (RTU)
The XEP modules support an autonomous remote control mode ("Tunneling") to mirror signals over the network (Input Module A → Output Module B).
- Setup: Two modules must be configured with matching IP addresses so that they find each other in the network ("Remote Peer").
- Direct Connection: When coupling two modules directly without a switch, a Crossover cable must be used (max. 100m).
- Fail-safe: The modules send a synchronization signal every 5 seconds. If this is missing (e.g., cable break), the outputs fall back to the inactive state (Restart Interlock).
